Code of Ethics

Last updated: March 2026.

1. Purpose and Scope

This Code of Ethics establishes the fundamental principles and standards of professional conduct to which all polygraph examiners and employees of INTERPOLYS are required to adhere. Our objective is to ensure the highest levels of accuracy, integrity, and objectivity in the conduct of psychophysiological examinations.

2. Fundamental Principles

  • 2.1. Honesty and Impartiality: INTERPOLYS experts are committed to conducting examinations with absolute objectivity. Results and conclusions must be based exclusively on data obtained during the test, free from the influence of personal beliefs or external pressure from the client.

  •
  • 2.2. Respect for Human Rights: We guarantee the respectful treatment and dignity of every examinee. Any form of discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or orientation is strictly prohibited.

  •
  • 2.3. Professional Competence: Only experts accredited by recognized international organizations (APA, BPS, EPA) are authorized to conduct examinations.

3. Examination Standards

  • 3.1. Voluntary Consent: No examination shall be conducted without prior written informed consent. The examinee reserves the right to terminate the test at any time.

  •
  • 3.2. Equipment Quality: All INTERPOLYS technical equipment meets international accuracy standards and undergoes regular calibration.

  •
  • 3.3. Question Formulation: Questions must be clear and relevant solely to the matter at hand. Questions that constitute an unjustified intrusion into private life are prohibited.

4. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • 4.1. Professional Secrecy: All information obtained during the examination is strictly confidential. Access to results is limited to the authorized client and the examinee.

  •
  • 4.2. Disclosure Restrictions: INTERPOLYS shall not disclose the fact of an engagement or the results thereof to third parties, except as required by Spanish law.

5. Expert Conclusions

The final report must contain only those results supported by chart analysis. Experts are required to acknowledge the limitations of the methodology and provide an objective interpretation of the data.

6. Professional Ethics and Responsibility

  • 6.1. Conflict of Interest: An expert shall not participate in a case if there is a personal interest or family relationship with any of the participants.

  •
  • 6.2. Anti-Corruption: Any attempt at bribery will result in the immediate termination of cooperation and, where necessary, notification of law enforcement authorities.

7. Compliance with the Code

Violation of the provisions of this Code shall result in disciplinary action, up to and including the termination of the expert’s accreditation within the INTERPOLYS structure.
